Bees are a recurring theme in the artist's creations. Their important role as pollinators and bioindicators of environmental changes, but also their extremely complex social behaviour, raise questions about our own behaviour and our role within society. Baselgia's responsibly created works are part of a local, self-contained ecosystem that show how humans are integrated into a larger whole. For many years, he has been exploring the interrelationships between humans, other life forms and the natural world. Regionality and sustainability play an important role in the artist's work. The breakfast talk with the artist Hartmut Sy and Dr Stefanje Weinmayr accompanies our exhibition "Poetry and Sobriety". In a joint discussion, we would like to get closer to the question of why sculptures fascinate us so much and how a sculpture intervenes in our living space. We would also like to discuss the formal language and the use of different materials and find out where the artist considers the most beautiful place for a sculpture.

Breakfast Talk with the artist Lea Grebe and Fotini Mavromati, Art Officer of the Federal Environment Agency, Miro Craemer and Jennifer Schenk as an accompanying programme to the exhibition "SCHWARM. Aesthetics of the Common".

In a joint discussion, we would like to explore the question of how insects inspire artists and how contemporary art approaches these small creatures in different ways. The focus will be on the swarm studies and bronze works by artist Lea Grebe and the project "A House for the Bees" by the Federal Environment Agency in Dessau.
